Typographer Poster

It is not often you stop to think about who made some of the most popular fonts in the world, and now, on the web. However, they are all people with stories to tell and lives lived, Mark Simonson is no different. Creator of the widely used “Proxima Nova” font, and a successful type designer, he was able to carve out a place for himself in the world when the predecessor of this popular font gained traction. Featured on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, more eyes were on his work than ever before, and with that came demand for a wider range of characters and supported languages. And so Simonson went to work, creating a brand new version of this font and releasing what we know today as Proxima Nova.

All this time later, it still finds use on the web, and this poster works to respect that history and elevate it through a graphically sound poster design that not only shows good type work, but demonstrates the font cleanly and clearly.
