Catalina Landscape

A landscape based off of a photo from Catalina Island. Featuring vibrant wildflowers placed in the foreground, with coastal hills reaching out beyond. Here the depth can be shown, stretching all the way back, even to those hills so covered in fog their details cease to be. The goal here is not only to simplify the visual, but to focus in on the elements that bring us the most peace.

In a way, this illustration can almost be a form of stopping to smell the roses, or in this case, the wildflowers. A landscape that stretches off into the distance, yet the captivating nature of the golden petals still manages to stand out above all like little stars in a field.
